Shutting Down - November 2012
It has been a long time (2 years) since I've updated this site. I may revisit this again, but for now I'm going to shut down the site within the next month. If you are currently running a campaign please transfer your data out.
Newsletter - September 2010

It's been a tricky month, we have been busy trying to get the enhancements out.  Unfortunately not too many things were able to be completed before this newsletter.  We were able to get the reports cleaned up.

So look forward to some nice changes in the coming months, including user linking ability.

We are almost done with our first full campaign, it's been a real experience.  Overall it seems the heroes don't stand much of a chance up until they get to the gold level.  Currently we are able to complete levels of a dungeon without even giving the overlord a chance to move the monsters.

Enjoy, and keep those campaigns moving!  Winter will hopefully bring more campaigns.

Newsletter - August 2010
There really isn't much new to report this month. Many things have come up including summer time activities and our day jobs.

The only new fix to report was a bug related to the fleeing lieutenants, seems they wouldn't stop sieging cities after they left. The fix changed the logic for sieges, now sieges will only be changed when a new week is created.

This means you can also swap lieutenants on a city in the same week without fear of losing the sieges on the city.

The reports page is being worked on, and hopefully the updated reports will be available soon. Keep your eyes peeled, it'll probably be a hot release.
Minor Update - Fleeing Lieutenants
Lieutenants may now flee from locations. Seems before they were stuck in their location until they either died or kicked the crap out of the heroes. A bunch of other minor bug fixes were also pushed. A summary of all these changes will be published in the next newsletter.
Descent Campaign Sheet Newsletter - July 2010
Descent Campaign Sheet Newsletter - July 2010

Again I would like to welcome the newcomers! I see there are several campaigns started, and quite a few moving past week 4 (a critical step in my book). Today I will be introducing the reports.

Currently there are only two reports. One contains the heroes XP and the other overlord XP. Here you can track your campaign vs. the rest of the campaigns in regards to how much experience your side has gained. There are a few more fixes and features noted below:
Features:
  • Reports! Yes I mentioned it above, but if you are like me you just skip to the list of stuff. So yes again, you can now view reports of your campaign vs the world. I realize there?s going to be quite a bit of static, I'm prepared to delete the garbage campaigns that are being made.
  • Added a newsletter checkbox in the profile. You may now unsubscribe from this mailing by unchecking this box and clicking save.
  • News posted on the homepage. You may now read these posts and any small updates on the homepage. You can also subscribe to the rss feed.
Fixes:
  • Fixed an issue with IE not working at all. Seems the browser called it quits on a few of the scripts. If you were trying to use the site with IE, it will function correctly now.
  • Fixed the issue where Vynelvale would give the OL experience after it was razed. This is the only exception town
  • Updated the undo ability for the Overlord, because of the Vynelvale change.
  • Tamalir upgrades now check to see if the heroes have enough XP to spend and reduce XP from the heroes once upgraded.
  • Adding lieutenants now takes XP from the overlord automatically (and checks to see if he/she can buy them in the first place). Because of the crazy experience costs of the Farrow family, you cannot undo any of the Farrows.
Future
  • Link users to campaigns. This was mentioned previously, and it should happen by the next release. This will allow you to enter in usernames for heroes and allow them to see the campaign by logging into their own account.
  • Allow you to not just archive campaigns, but actually delete them. This will help my efforts in keeping the static campaigns down, and will make reading the reports a little easier.
  • Overworld map. I?m hoping to get an overworld map up and running. It will be complete with a drag and drop interface, allowing you to move heroes/lieutenants without having to search through a list of places.
  • Of course all of the previously mentioned features are still being decided on. It?s just a matter of finding the most value earliest.
Good luck out there!
Chris
Release 2
There have been many updates since the initial release. I received a lot of feedback and I was able to incorporate almost all of the fixes. Here are a few of the changes that took place:
Features:
  • UNDO! You can now freely undo several portions of the site. This includes Week, Hero Location, Heroes, Individual Heroes, and Overlord. Feel free to give it a try, you now â€?have a pencilâ€? as one of our key friends would say.
  • Week 0 is much more flexible. Previously our Week 0 (or the initial setup stage) had too many rules in place. Now you can freely set up your campaign at any week, this is very handy if you already have a campaign running and wish to start recording it here.
Fixes:
  • Previously if you fled a dungeon there was no way of recording that you were currently at Tamalir.
  • Fixed an issue where you could not select "none" from the rumor location once one was set.
  • Fixed the issue with the Safari browser where text boxes were a bit too small (please let me know if you see any missed ones, I do not have a mac to test this on).
I still have a few things on the plan for the next release: Reports, Username Linking, Videos. If you see anything you don't like or would like to see an additional feature, please don't hesitate to email me at chris@cjweed.com. I started my campaign last weekend and currently we are at week 3 I believe, the heroes and overlord are almost tied in XP. The heroes were wusses and fled both dungeons so far.

Good luck out there!

Descent Campaign Sheet Released!
The Descent Campaign Sheet has been released. Feel free to create your campaigns. There are going to be several updates to this website as it grows. Currently we are working on getting the reports up and running. Of course the reports are useless unless we have some campaigns to report. So get your team out there!
